Reflection on the process of blogging

The most memorable aspect was when my friends and I all rushed to K 16 to do this assignment on due date. We all had fun that day. I did not expect to do such easy assignment for 50 marks. There wasn’t a right or wrong answer and that made me feel happy. I have learnt to express my feeling toward myself as a ’good’ teacher.

I think that the question, how do I see myself as a teacher? , is the most important point that every teaching student should be answering, because if you couldn’t answer that question, then you as a teaching student are at the wrong place. I think that this question was never asked during my first year of studies. Information literacy was one course that seemed to be used in this assignment.

What happened was I needed to get onto Google and search for a blog. I had to sign in and create a blog for myself. I need to find out how a blog works and finally I got a blog for myself for the first time in my life. Things I should of change in this assignment are that the students need to use the blog for a dairy. He or she must use this blog for 5 days as a dairy, because the marks aren’t given for the answers but for the progress using a blog as a student.

A moment of frustration I had during doing this blog, because I did it before the due date of this assignment. I think that I need more to work on my introduction. This assignment gave me a chance of creating a blog from myself so that I can use it for rugby, the most important thing in my life.

The most difficult part of the work was when I needed to post something on the internet that many people could look at. What I did during class time was helping other students with their blogs and that made me felt proud doing something for my fellow students or classmates. I think that this assignment gave me a moment of frustration but at the end i add something to my knowledge, something called a BLOG…..

Is it necessary to integrate social media in the classroom? How can I use forums like blogs, Facebook, twitter etc. to be a better teacher?

Social media plays a very big role in students life’s, they basically revolve their life’s around what happens on social media, so to integrate social media in and around the classroom would benefit not only myself as the teacher but also the students in terms of work progress, by using forums like Facebook, twitter and blogs you enable the students to understand the necessary work much faster because of the fact that they are exposed to social media on such a large scale.

How did teaching practice change my idea of how I see myself as a ‘teacher’?

Teaching practice was a big experience for me as ‘n student. To mush expectation was expected from teachers and lectures from CPUT. Professional behaviour was expected and I made use of it. The amount of work as a teacher made me think twice about being an educator. I decided that I am doing it for the children of South-Africa. Sometimes I am too childish and I made my decision that I have to be grownup and think like an educator if I’m going to be a teacher. Be an organized person (teacher), because I’m not that organise as a student. I have to be more communicative, because I often speak to people and being a teacher you need to have the ability to speak to any person, any place.

How do I see myself as a teacher?

I see myself as a teacher that will motivate children. A good bond will be formed the children and I. I will always try my best in order to give the best education for my children. If they have any problems, at home or at school, I will always be there to talk with. I will teach the children the rugby there is and find a way for the best rugby player to reach their dream. I see myself as good teacher that will always listen to comments from the children.

Why I want to be a teacher and the characteristics of a good teacher. Do you think you will be a good teacher?

Firstly, my dad is an educator at a school, so he is my role model. He always told my brother and I to be educators and motivate us to be good teachers. Secondly, as I said that I love rugby, so being an educator at a school and are in involved in sport is my dream. A good teacher need to identify the lack in communities and need to try their best to solved most of the problems. A good teacher must be a motivator, he or she needs to have patience and have a goal in life in order of the children. I will be a good teacher, because all of the above information I have as a person.
